Privacy policy

Your agent work stays on your Mac.

Codeck keeps task discovery local. License verification, software updates, and optional model downloads use the network as described below.

Updated September 7, 2026

Tasks and Quick Tasks

Codeck reads local task metadata needed to display, group, and open your Codex and Claude Code tasks. This includes task titles, provider identifiers, timestamps, status, project names, and local paths. It does not upload task titles, prompts, file contents, or project paths to a Codeck server.

When you create a Quick Task, Codeck passes your prompt and selected workspace to the provider you choose. That provider’s own account, processing, and privacy terms apply. Codeck has no in-app behavioral analytics or advertising trackers.

Optional enhanced Claude status

Basic discovery does not change Claude settings. If enabled, enhanced status uses local hook events and Codeck’s signed helper. A prompt-submit event can include prompt text; the helper decodes only session and lifecycle metadata and does not store, log, display, or transmit prompt text. You can remove Codeck-owned hooks without affecting unrelated hooks.

Permissions and voice

Input Monitoring is optional and used for the Right Command + Right Option gesture, not recording typed text. Optional Quick Task auto-send requests Accessibility permission to check the destination app’s focused text field and submit the prepared prompt. Screen Recording is not required.

Voice input uses microphone permission and local speech processing. On supported macOS versions it uses on-device Apple speech recognition; other supported configurations use a downloaded Whisper model. Recorded audio is processed on your Mac and is not uploaded by Codeck.

Optional model downloads

Downloading voice models and tokenizer files contacts Hugging Face, which hosts the Argmax and model packages. Those hosts receive ordinary request metadata such as IP address, requested files, and request time; they do not receive your recording or task prompts from Codeck. Files remain in Codeck’s local Application Support storage and can be removed through Settings.

License verification

Codeck sends your license key and activation instance information to the Codeck license service over HTTPS to activate, verify, or deactivate an installation. Installation labels use a random identifier rather than your hardware serial number or computer name. Requests contain no task or workspace data. The Codeck license service associates a license with your purchase and receives ordinary network metadata.

The license key, installation ID, signed lease, and verification timestamps are stored locally in Keychain without iCloud synchronization. The app does not receive your billing details. The license service stores encrypted recoverable license keys, purchase references, activation records, and your purchase email for delivery and access recovery. The app periodically verifies licenses while online and allows up to 30 days offline after successful verification.

Software updates

Codeck checks the official HTTPS Sparkle feed for signed updates with system-profile reporting disabled. Update requests contain no task data, license key, or workspace paths. The download host may receive an IP address, request time, app user agent, and requested URL in infrastructure logs.

Website and checkout

The website and download hosting receive ordinary hosting logs. Stripe Managed Payments processes payment, billing, receipts, tax, fraud prevention, and disputes under Stripe’s privacy policy. Codeck handles license issuance and purchase downloads under this policy. Website and checkout requests do not contain task data from Codeck.

Diagnostics, retention, and deletion

Copy Diagnostics includes app/macOS versions, provider health, and permission or listener state. It excludes task titles, prompts, project paths, file contents, full license keys, and customer details. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable obligations.

Preferences and optional models remain on your Mac until removed. Deactivate this Mac before uninstalling to release its license slot. Removing the app alone does not remove its Keychain record or provider settings. Support can help with lost-device activation recovery and deletion requests. Purchases and billing records are handled by Stripe under its retention requirements.
